NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is hereby given that SEALED PROPOSALS for the following contract for the South Farmingdale Water District:

IRON REMOVAL FOR WELL NO. 5-2
H2M PROJECT NO.: SFWD 11-01

will be received by the Board of Commissioners of the South Farmingdale Water District in the office of the Board  at 40 Langdon Road, Farmingdale, New York 11735-3000, at 4:30 P.M., Prevailing Time, on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

One set of electronic Plans and Specifications may be obtained at the office of the District Engineer, HOLZMACHER, McLENDON & MURRELL, P.C., 575 Broad Hollow Road, Melville, New York 11747, upon deposit of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). Make deposit check payable to HOLZMACHER, McLENDON & MURRELL, P.C.  Bidders deposit will be refunded when the original disc is returned in good condition within ten (10) days after the bids have been opened. Other deposits will be partially or not refunded. Additional sets may be purchased at a cost of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per disc. No refunds will be provided for additional sets purchased.

Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the SOUTH FARMINGDALE WATER DISTRICT, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract.

The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informalities and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board, is in the best interests of the Water District.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Law the following Resolution was duly adopted by the

Board of Commissioners of the SOUTH FARMINGDALE WATER DISTRICT:

RESOLVED, that an election will be held in the South Farmingdale Fire House located at 819 Main Street, Farmingdale, New York, 11735 and also in the North Massapequa Fire House located at 1000 North Broadway, North Massapequa, New York, 11758, on December 13, 2011, between the hours of 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., E.S.T., for the purpose of electing a Water Commissioner for a term of three (3) years.

All candidates for District office shall file their names with the Secretary of the Board of Commissioners at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of election; all such nominations must be submitted in petition form subscribed to by twenty-five (25) registered voters of the District.
